Did you know…As of 1/7/12 it has been legislated that all hot water heaters NEW & REPLACEMENT must be fitted with a tempering valve by a licenced plumber.
A tempering valve is a device which limits the water temperature to a maximum 50 deg. This has been introduced to avoid scolding & serious burns.
Previous to this date a straight change over replacement hot water heater was exempt from this law “NOT ANYMORE”.
So if you are in the market for a hot water heater make sure that your quote includes the price to supply & install a tempering valve.
